Last week the Liberal Democrat Group on Rother District Council

endorsed Cllr Kevin Dixon as their new Leader to take over from Cllr Sue Prochak. Cllr Prochak, recently re-elected to Rother with an increased personal vote, has served on Rother for 22 years and has been the Leader of the Lib Dem Group for a greater part of that time.
Cllr Prochak said, 'We have been discussing the possibility of Kevin taking over the leader's role for some time now. We recognise in Kevin considerable strengths and personal qualities which make him the right person for the job. It is an appropriate time for a younger and different perspective . Leading the opposition is a considerable challenge and we know Kevin will undertake this job with commitment and determination to represent the views of residents and fight for a fairer say in the Council Chamber.
Cllr Dixon was elected to serve Battle in 2007. He was the youngest President of Battle and District Chamber of Commerce and youngest Battle Town Mayor. He is passionate about Rother residents having a voice in the Town Hall, especially those of the business sector who provide employment and also the need for more affordable housing in the District.
