2023 Annual General Meeting 18th November

Dear valued Member,

I am very pleased to be able to invite you as a member of Bexhill and Battle Liberal Democrat Local Party to our AGM.

I appreciate the formalities of AGMs can be a little dull at times, however they do give an interesting and valued insight into the achievements and frustrations of our devoted Councillors, Officers, and volunteers. There is also an opportunity to meet, socialise, and discuss points of interest. We have as our main speaker, James MacCleary who we very much hope will be our next MP for Lewes, following in the footsteps of the excellent Norman Baker.

James was elected to Lewes District Council in 2019 and is their Group Leader. He followed that up by being elected to East Sussex County Council, which has moved to no overall control as a result of the recent Lib Dem win in a by-election in Eastbourne.

His work CV tells he has been a Campaign Manager for the Cats Protection League, the RSPCA, the European Movement and now is a director of a communications company, specialising in helping local authorities.

We will also be benefiting from a wonderful buffet lunch and there will be a bar for drinks, as well as the obligatory Lib Dem raffle.

So please, make a date to come and enjoy yourselves, meet friends at the Guide Hall on North Trade Road, Battle 12.45 on Saturday 18 November.  It would help enormously if you could let me know on stephenhardy1948@gmail.com if you are coming or if you want to give your apologies.

Yours sincerely
